Barrhaven is a large rapidly growing family-friendly suburban neighbourhood located in the southwest end of Ottawa. Amenities continue to pop up around the neighbourhood. The area is filled with schools comprised from the following school boards: Public: The Ottawa Carleton District School Board (OCDSB), Conseil des Ecoles Publiques de l’Est de l’Ontario (CEPEO), Catholic: The Ottawa Catholic School Board (OCSB) and Conseil des Ecoles Catholiques du Centre-Est (CECCE).

There are numerous beautiful parks & playgrounds, fantastic restaurants and a growing commercial district. Housing in barrhaven is abundant with condos, townhomes and single-family homes. The homes in the area are considered to be affordable for first time home buyers, however the neighbourhood also includes upscale homes in the Stonebridge area near the golf course.
